NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd July, 2026
F. No. A.60011/06/2018/HRPC/Pt.2.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) read with
sub-section (4) of section 42 of the Airports Authority of India Act, 1994 (55 of 1994), the Airports Authority of India,
with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Airports
Authority of India (Leave) Regulations, 2003, namely:-
1. Short title and commencement.– (1) These regulations may be called the Airports Authority of India (Leave)
Amendment Regulations, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Airports Authority of India (Leave) Regulations, 2003 (hereinafter referred to as the said Regulations),
in regulation 11, in sub-regulation (6), for clauses (a) and (b), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely:-
"(a). For Pregnancy:- A female employee (including a probationer) with less than two surviving children may
be granted maternity leave for a period of 180 (one hundred and eighty) days from the date of its
commencement. The leave will be granted on submission or production of medical certificate issued by the
authorised medical officer or hospital or nursing home.
(b). For Miscarriage or Medical Termination of Pregnancy:- Maternity leave not exceeding 45 days may also
be granted to a female employee (irrespective of the number of surviving children) during the entire service of
that female employee in case of miscarriage including abortion on production of medical certificate.
Provided that abortion does not include threatened abortion and maternity leave cannot be granted in case of threatened
abortion."
3. In the said Regulations, regulation 16 shall be omitted.
