L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-12022026-270074 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 637] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2026/MAGHA 20, 1947 MINISTRY OF POWER ORDER New Delhi, the 9th February, 2026 S.O. 671(E).—Whereas M/s Torrent Power Limited the applicant with its registered address at "Samanvay", 600, Tapovan, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad has applied for authorization under Section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003 for laying of overhead transmission line under the Transmission Scheme "Transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Torrent Power Limited for 160 MW as Distribution Licensee near Navsari, Gujarat". And whereas, Ministry of Power, Government of India vide its letter No. 25-17/76/2025-PG, Dated 29.07.2025 had granted prior approval under section 68(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 for the overhead line covered under the transmission scheme "Transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Torrent Power Limited for 160 MW as Distribution Licensee near Navsari, Gujarat". M/s Torrent Power Limited had published notice for transmission scheme in local newspapers, The Indian Express (in English), Rajasthan Patrika (in Hindi), Gujarat Mitra (in Gujarati), Sandesh (in Gujarati) dated 02.08.2025 and in Weekly Gazette of India dated 16.08.2025 for the public to make observations/representations on the proposed transmission route within two months from the date of publication. Subsequently, M/s Torrent Power Limited has submitted an affidavit dated 10.12.2025 declaring that no observation was received within two months from the date of Publication in the official Gazette of Government of India. And now the applicant has requested to confer upon him, all the powers under section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003, which the telegraph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to the placing of telegraph lines and posts for the purpose of a telegraph established or maintained by Government or to be so established or maintained for laying of electric lines for M/s Torrent Power Limited. The following overhead transmission lines are covered under this scheme: • Torrent Power Limited (Bhatar) – Navsari (New) (GIS) 220 kV D/c line [The total line length is 30 kms (approx.) which is to be implemented by utilizing 13 kms (approx.) portion of existing Sugen – TPL (Bhatar) 220 kV D/c line from TPL (Bhatar) upto Loc. No. 182 (at Village Uber, Taluka Sachin, District Surat, Gujarat) and thereafter new construction of 17 kms (approx.) 220 kV D/c line on M/c towers from Loc. No. 182 to Navsari (New) (GIS) so as to form TPL (Bhatar) – Navsari (New) (GIS) 220 kV D/c line. Balance portion of Sugen TPL (Bhatar) 220 kV D/c line would be disconnected from Sugen end] The above overhead transmission lines covered under the above scheme will pass through, over, around and between the following villages, towns and cities of Gujarat state: +-------+-------------------------------------+-----------+----------+---------+ | S. The approval is granted for 25 years. ii. The Applicant shall have to seek the consent of the concerned authorities, i.e., local bodies, Railways, National Highways, State Highways etc. before erection of proposed line. iii. The Applicant shall have to follow regulations/codes of the Appropriate Commission regarding transmission, O&M, open access, etc., framed under the Electricity Act, 2003. iv. The Applicant shall operate the line after approval of Electrical Inspector / Chief Electrical Inspector of Central Government. v. The approval is subject to compliance of the requirement of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and the rules made there under by the applicant. vi. M/s Torrent Power Limited shall have to submit the requisite clearances to Central Electricity Authority after obtaining the same from concerned authorities like Civil Aviation, Defense etc., at the time of Electrical Inspection. vii. In case, the route of above overhead lines (or some portion of the route of above overhead line) falls in the Revised Great Indian Bustard (GIB) area, the applicant has to comply with the directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in its order dated 19.12.2025 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 838 of 2019 and any other directions given by competent authorities in pursuance of the above order by Hon'ble Supreme Court.
