The Ministry had previously granted prior approval under Section 68(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003, via letter No. 25-17/54/2024-PG dated June 6, 2024. M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited published notices in Deccan Chronicle and The Times of India on March 21, 2025, and in the Weekly Gazette of India on May 3, 2025, for public observations. Out of 39 objections received, agreements were signed with 18 landowners, 8 were deemed inadmissible, 4 pertained to a corridor shared with JSW Energy Limited near Karur PS, and 9 were suitably replied to. The conferred powers are equivalent to those of a telegraph authority under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, for the 230 kV S/c line on D/c towers between the Generation Pooling Station in Senapathipalayam, Taluk Kangayem, District Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, and Karur PS (ISTS S/s). This line will pass through various villages in Kangayem and Dharapuram Taluks of Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu. The approval is valid for 25 years and is subject to conditions including seeking consent from relevant authorities, adhering to regulations of the Appropriate Commission under the Electricity Act, 2003, obtaining approval from the Electrical Inspector/Chief Electrical Inspector, complying with the Electricity Act, 2003 provisions, submitting requisite clearances to the Central Electricity Authority, and, if applicable, complying with Hon'ble Supreme Court orders regarding the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) case (petition No. 838 of 2019).

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-08092025-266011 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3959] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2025/BHADRA 17, 1947 MINISTRY OF POWER ORDER New Delhi, the 8th September, 2025 S.O. 4074(E).— Whereas M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited having its registered address at Tata Power Company Limited, Corporate Centre, Block B, 34 Sant Tukaram Road, Carnac Bunder, Mumbai, Maharashtra- 400009, India, has applied for authorization under Section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003 for laying of overhead transmission line under the transmission scheme “Transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamil Nadu". And whereas, Ministry of Power, Government of India vide its letter No. 25-17/54/2024-PG dated 06.06.2024 had granted prior approval under section 68(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003 for the overhead line covered under the transmission scheme “Transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamil Nadu". M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited had published notice for transmission scheme in local newspapers Deccan Chronicle (in English) dated 21.03.2025, The Times of India (in English) dated 21.03.2025, Dakshin Prakash (in Hindi) dated 21.03.2025, Dinakaran (in Tamil) dated 21.03.2025, Dinathanthi (in Tamil) dated 21.03.2025 and in Weekly Gazette of India dated 03.05.2025 for the general public to make observations/representations on the proposed transmission route within 2 Months from the date of publication. Subsequently, M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has submitted an affidavit dated 14.08.2025 declaring that 39 objections/representations were received within two months from the date of publication in the official gazette of Government of India and from the date of publication in the Newspaper Publication. In the 39 objections/representation, they have signed agreements with 18 Landowners/Complainants, 08 Objections are not admissible as neither tower nor line corridor passes through the survey numbers mentioned in the objection letters, 04 Objections pertain to corridor area near Karur PS where JSW Energy Limited has already signed agreement with the Landowners/Complainants and constructed the EHV line and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited will utilize the same corridor through sharing agreement with JSW Energy Limited and the remaining 09 objections have been replied suitably and thereafter no further objection/representation have been received from the aforementioned 09 Complainants. And now the applicant has requested to confer upon him, all the powers under section 164 of the Electricity Act, 2003, which the telegraph authority possess under the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 with respect to the placing of telegraph lines and posts for the purpose of a telegraph established or maintained by Government or to be so established or maintained for laying of electric lines under the transmission scheme "Transmission system for providing connectivity to M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited for its 198 MW Wind Power Project in Karur, Tamil Nadu". The following overhead line is covered under this scheme: 1. Generation Pooling Station of M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (Generation pooling station located in village Senapathipalayam, Taluk Kangayem, District Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu) – Karur PS (ISTS S/s) 230 kV S/c line on D/c towers The transmission line covered under the above scheme will pass through, over, around and between the following villages, towns and cities of Tamil Nadu: S Name of Villages Tehsil/Taluk | District | State No. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. The approval is granted for 25 years. ii. The Applicant shall have to seek the consent of the concerned authorities i.e., local bodies, Railways, National Highways, State Highways etc. before erection of proposed line. iii. The Applicant shall have to follow regulations/codes of the Appropriate Commission regarding transmission, O&M, open access, etc., framed under Electricity Act, 2003. iv. The Applicant shall operate the line after approval of Electrical Inspector / Chief Electrical Inspector of Central Government. v. The approval is subject to compliance of the requirement of the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and the rules made there under by the applicant. vi. M/s Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited shall have to submit the requisite clearances to Central Electricity Authority after obtaining the same from concerned authorities like Civil Aviation, Defense etc., at the time of Electrical Inspection. vii. In case, the route of above overhead lines (or some portion of the route of above overhead line) falls in the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) area, the applicant has to comply with the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the petition No.838 of 2019 regarding Great Indian Bustard (GIB) case, and the directions of the technical/expert committee constituted by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in this regard.
