Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Power, via a notification dated 26th September, 2025 (F. No. 47/6/2023-R&R), announces the appointment of Shri Raj Kumar Chaudhary, former Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC Ltd., as Chairperson of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Ladakh. This appointment is made by the President in terms of section 76 (6) read with section 89(1) of the Electricity Act, 2003. Shri Chaudhary will serve in level 17 of the pay matrix, effective from 22nd September, 2025, for a period of 05 years or until attaining the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
