L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-07102024-257736 EXTRAORDINARY PART III-Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 779] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2024/ASVINA 15, 1946 6465 GI/2024 NATIONAL HIGHWAYS AUTHORITY OF INDIA NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th September, 2024 F.No.NHAI/PIU-LudhianaExpressway/Dake/Pkg-1toPkg-12/AccessControlNotification/E-247810.— Whereas, the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway (NE-5) is being developed as on Four-lane fully access controlled expressway, starting from its junction with KMP near Jasore kheri village connecting District: Jhajjar, Sonipat, Rohtak, Jind, Kaithal and Karnal in the state of Haryana, District: Patiala, Sangrur, Malerkotla, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kapurthala and Gurdaspur in the state of Punjab, terminating at its junction with NH-54 to the National Highways Authority of India (herein after referred to as the "Authority"). And whereas there have been and are alternative routes and roads available to the public for linking the above places/accessing various destination points before the development of this Expressway; And whereas this Expressway has been developed as a high-speed corridor and the maximum speed limits for Motor Vehicles of various descriptions for the Expressway have been notified varying between 80 km/hour to 120 km/hour vide Notification bearing No. S.O. 1522 (E) dated 6th April, 2018; And whereas the movement of high speed vehicles may pose risk to the safety of certain classes of comparatively slow moving vehicles e.g. two wheelers, three wheelers and other slow moving vehicles like nonmotorized vehicles, agricultural tractors (with or without trailers) due to their vulnerability and associated speed differentials and compromise the road safety aspects; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 35 of "The Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002", it is hereby ordered that the following classes of vehicles are prohibited from using the Delhi- Amritsar-Katra Expressway (NE-5); (i) Motor Cycles (including scooters and other-wheelers); (ii) Three wheelers (including e-Carts and e-Rickshaws); (iii) Non- motorized vehicles; (iv) Tractors Special with or without trailers (v) Multi Axle Hydraulic Trailer Vehicles (vi) Quadri-cycle SANTOSH KUMAR YADAV, Chairman and Highway Administrator [ADVT.-III/4/Exty./548/2024-25] Uploaded by Dte. of Printing at Government of India Press, Ring Road, Mayapuri, New Delhi-110064 and Published by the Controller of Publications, Delhi-110054.
