Notification S.O. 1755(E), issued in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982 (66 of 1982), confers to officers in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to Deputy Inspector General of Police, National Investigation Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs, the powers of arrest, investigation, and prosecution exercisable by a police officer under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023). Similarly, Notification S.O. 1756(E), issued in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Anti-Hijacking Act, 2016 (30 of 2016), confers the same powers to officers in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to Deputy Inspector General of Police, National Investigation Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs, for the purposes of the said Act. Both notifications shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette and were signed by ASANGBA CHUBA AO, Joint Secretary.
