In exercise of powers under Section 2 of the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1947 (43 of 1947), the Central Government makes the "Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Seventh Amendment Order, 2023", effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The amendment, in the Schedule to the principal 2007 Order under the heading "II. Composition of the list", substitutes the word "five" with "six" in the first line and inserts a new item "F" covering individuals and entities designated under different UNSC resolutions updated from time to time, including those designated by the UNSC 1267 Committee (pertaining to Al-Qaida and Da'esh) and the UNSC 1988 Committee (pertaining to Taliban), as communicated by the Central Government. 6970 GI/202 3 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4604] NEW DELHI, MON DAY , NOVEMBER 6, 2023/ KARTIKA 15, 1945 CG-DL-E-06112023-249897 [फा. सं. यू.II/152/32/2021] MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS ORDER New Delhi, the 6 th November, 2023 S.O. 4802 (E).—Whereas, the Security Council of the United Nations Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al -Qaida, and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities enacted amend ments on its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al -Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo set out in paragraph 1 of the Security Council resolution 2610 (2021), and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations; And whereas, the Central Government considers it necessary and expedient to revise and update the Schedule to the order issued under the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1947 (43 of 1947) to give effect to the said amendments; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the United Nations (Security Council) Act, 1947 (43 of 1947), the Central Government hereby makes the following order further to amend the Prevention and Suppression of Terror ism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Order, 2007, namely: – 1. (1) This Order may be called the Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Seventh Amendment Order, 2023. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism (Implementation of Security Council Resolutions) Order, 2007, in the “Schedule”, after the heading “II. Composition of the list” (a) In the first line for word “five” the word “six” shall be substituted; (b) after item “E”, the following shall be inserted, namely: – “F. List of individuals and entities designated under different UNSC resolutions updated from time to time, including those designated by the UNSC 1267 Committee pertaining to Al -Qaida and Da’esh and the UNSC 1988 Committee pertaining to Taliban as communicated by the Central Government.”.
