No. CM-99/1/2021-LAW-HO-CPCB-HO.—In exercise of the power conferred by Section 4, clause (4) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (Act No. 6 of 1974) and Section 6 of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 (Act No. 14 of 1981), the Central Pollution Control Board hereby reconstitutes the Committee as specified by the Central Government whose constitution was notified by a Notification published in the Gazette of India vide No. C-603/Lakshdweep PCC/Legal-2021 dated 21.06.2021 in respect of the Union Territory (UT) of Lakshadweep. (ii) *As there is no sanctioned post of Chairman in UT of Lakshadweep, the Advisor to the Hon'ble Administrator, UT of Lakshadweep Administration is designated as Chairman, LPCC, till sanction of the Chairman Post. (iii) ** As there is no sanctioned post of Member Secretary in UT of Lakshadweep, the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, UT of Lakshadweep is being designated as Member Secretary, LPCC, till sanction of the Member Secretary post (iv) The Notification shall come into force with immediate effect. (v) The Notification published in the Gazette of India vide S.O. 842 (E) dated 31.08.1988, Legal/156(4) 1990 dated 23.03.2006 and C-603/Lakshdweep PCC/Legal-2021 dated 21.06.2021 stands rescinded.
