NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 2nd September, 2025
CM-99/1/2021-LAW-HO-CPСВ-НО.— In exercise of the power conferred by Section 4, clause
(4) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (Act No. 6 of 1974) and Section 6 of the
Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 (Act No. 4 of 1981), the Central Pollution Control
Board hereby reconstitutes the Committee as specified by the Central Government whose constitution was
notified by a Notification published in the Gazette of India vide S.O. 842(E), dated 31.08.1988 and
reconstitution was notified by a Notification published in the Gazette of India vide CM-99/1/2021-LAW-
HO-CPCB-HO dated 18.07.2024 in respect of the Union Territory (UT) of Lakshadweep. The
reconstitution of the Committee is as follows:

And,
(i) This Committee may be called as Lakshadweep Pollution Control Committee.
(ii) This Committee shall exercise all the powers which were delegated to the Committee vide
Principal Notification, S.O. 842 (E) dated 31.08.1988.
(iii) *As there is no sanctioned post of Chairman in UT of Lakshadweep, Secretary (Finance), UT
of Lakshadweep is designated as Chairman, LPCC, till sanction of the Chairman Post.
(iv) ** As there is no sanctioned post of Member Secretary in UT of Lakshadweep, the Secretary,
Department of Science and Technology, UT of Lakshadweep is being designated as Member
Secretary, LPCC, till sanction of the Member Secretary post
(v) The Notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
(vi) The Notification published in the Gazette of India vide CM-99/1/2021-LAW-HO-CPCB-
HO dated 18.07.2024 stands rescinded.
