                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), located at Parivesh Bhawan, East Arjun Nagar, Delhi-110032, issued a notification on 1st January, 2026, under powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 12 and Section 13, read with clause 1 of Notification No. 145(E), dated 21st February, 1991, issued under Section 23 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986). This notification recognizes M/s Gujarat Environment Management Institute's Laboratory, B-64 GIDC Campus, Sector 25, Gandhinagar-382024, Gujarat, as an 'Environmental Laboratory' to perform functions under the said Act and rules. Concurrently, Dr. Nitasha Khatri and Ms. Harshida J Modi are appointed as Government Analysts for the analysis of samples including Air, Water, Soil, or other substances. The laboratory is recognized for a broad range of parameters including Physical Tests, Inorganic (General and Non-metallic, Trace Metals), Organics (General and Trace), Microbiological, Toxicological, and Biological Tests of Water and Wastewater, Characterization of Hazardous Waste, Soil/Sludge/Sediment and Solid Waste, Ambient Air/Fugitive Emissions, Stack Gases/Source Emission, Noise level, and Meteorological Monitoring. The recognition for the laboratory is valid until 17th September, 2028, while Government Analysts are appointed for a validity period or until superannuation, whichever is earlier. No. Legal 42(3)/87.— In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 12 and 13 read with clause 1 of the Notification No. 145(E), dated 21st February, 1991, issued under Section 23 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Pollution Control Board, Parivesh Bhawan, East Arjun Nagar, Delhi- 110032 hereby recognize, (a) the Laboratories specified in column (2) of the table below as 'Environmental Laboratory' to carry out the functions entrusted to the Environmental Laboratories under the said Act, and the rules made there under and (b) specified persons in column (3) of the table as the Government Analysts for the purpose of analysis of samples of Air, Water, Soil or other substances sent for analysis, specified for respective groups of parameters mentioned in column (4). After Sr. No. 200 of the Notification No. Legal/42(3)/87, dated 7 October 2025, and the entries relating thereto, the following serial no. and entries shall be added, namely:
