S.O. 416(E), issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on 11th January 2024, recites that the Government of India signed the Headquarters Agreement establishing the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) in India on 22nd August 2022, that Article X of that Agreement provides for privileges and immunities to CDRI and its representatives and officials, and, exercising power under section 3 of the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947), declares that specified sections of Article I, Article II, Article III, Article V and Article VI of the Schedule to the said Act shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to CDRI, its representatives and officials; the notification (F.No. D-II/451/16(3)/2021) is signed by Anshuman Gaur, Joint Secretary.

Whereas, the Government of India signed the HeadquartersAgreement for establishing the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (hereinafter referred to as CDRI) in India on 22nd August, 2022;\ And whereas, Article X of the Headquarters Agreement provides for privileges and immunities to CDRI, its representatives and officials; And whereas, the Central Government considers it expedient to extend the necessary privileges and immunities provided under the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947) to CDRI, its representatives and officials; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares that the provisions of section 1 of Article I, sections 2,3,4,5,6,7 and section 8 of Article II, section 9 of Article III and clauses (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) of section 18 and section 20 of Article V and clauses (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of section 22 and section 23 of Article VI of the Schedule to the said Act shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to CDRI, its representatives and officials.
