Core Purpose

Indian Nursing Council withdraws recognition of Narayana School of Nursing, Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh to conduct GNM Course effective from 21-05-2024.

Detailed Summary

The Indian Nursing Council issues a withdrawal order for the recognition of Narayana School of Nursing in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, to conduct the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This decision, effective from May 21, 2024, is based on the institution's deficiencies in clinical and teaching facilities, as highlighted in an inspection report dated 19-09-2023. The council had previously issued a notice on 26-02-2024 to the Andhra Pradesh State Government and Narayana School of Nursing regarding the potential withdrawal of recognition, requesting recommendations from the State Government. However, neither the State Government nor the institution responded. Consequently, the Council, exercising its powers under Section 14(3)(b) of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947, has declared the withdrawal. Individuals holding GNM qualifications from this institution after 21-05-2024 will only be eligible for registration within the State of Andhra Pradesh.
