Darjeeling 734434 West Bengal is recognized by State Government of West Bengal and West Bengal Nursing Council to conduct B.Sc(N) Course. Whereas, a notice no. 18-32/15582 (54189) dated 27/03/2024 for withdrawal of Recognition under section 14 of Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 addressed to the Additional Chief secretary (Health & FW), Government of West Bengal, Swasthya Bhawan, 4th floor, B- Wing, GN-29, Sector –V, Bidhan Nagar, Kolkata – 700091, West Bengal was issued. Copy of the notice dated 27/03/2024 was also enclosed to Pragati Nursing College And Pragati Nursing School situated at Vill - Kalaram, P.S. - Phansidewa, P.o.- Rangapani, Distt. Darjeeling 734434 West Bengal. In the notice issued, the State Government was requested to submit their recommendations to the Council as respects Suitability of the nursing institution. Whereas, the Council has not received any recommendation from the State Government as respects the case of Pragati Nursing College and Pragati Nursing School Even the institution, Pragati Nursing College and Pragati Nursing School has not responded to the notices issued. Whereas, the Council has considered the matter in its entirety. Perusal of the inspection report dated 04/09/2023 would show that the institution is deficient in many respects especially those relating to deficiencies i.e., clinical and teaching facilities. These are serious deficiencies which constitute that the institution is unable to run B.Sc(N) Course. Now therefore, the Council exercising powers under section 14(3) (b) declares that with effect from 21/05/2024 any person holding a recognized qualification of B.Sc(N) from Pragati Nursing College And Pragati Nursing School situated at Vill - Kalaram, P.S. - Phansidewa, P.o.- Rangapani, Distt.
