Detailed Summary

The Indian Nursing Council issues a withdrawal order regarding the recognition of Bangi Institute of Nursing Sciences, Bijapur for conducting the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This decision follows a notice issued on 26.12.2023 to the Karnataka State Government and the institute, requesting recommendations regarding the institution's suitability, to which no response or recommendation was received. An inspection report dated 07.03.2023 highlighted significant deficiencies, particularly in clinical and teaching facilities, rendering the institute unable to adequately run the GNM program. Consequently, effective from 21.05.2024, the Council declares that GNM qualifications obtained from Bangi Institute will only entitle individuals to register as nurses within the State of Karnataka.
