Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is satisfied that the services of Delhi Transport Corporation and Cluster Bus Scheme of the Transport Department are an essential transport service of critical importance for the people of the National Capital Territory of Delhi; And whereas the employees, including contractual & out-sourced, of DTC, DIMTS and concessionaire deployed for operation of DTC/Cluster bus scheme, often go for strike to disrupt transport services causing inconvenience and hardship to the general public, and also financial loss to the Government; And whereas the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is further satisfied that in the public interest, it is necessary and expedient to prohibit the strike/ agitation by these employees. Now, therefore, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in exercise of Powers conferred upon him under section 3 read with section 4A of the Haryana Essential Services Maintenance Act 1974 (Haryana Act No. 40 of 1974) as extended to the National Capital Territory of Delhi vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. GSR 526 (E) dated 30.7.93, hereby orders that the above said services as essential services and prohibits the strike/agitation by the aforesaid employees for a period of six months from the publication of this notification in official Gazette.
