L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-WB-E-29042026-272158 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2049] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026/VAISAKHA 8, 1948 3010 GI/2026 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS [South Eastern Railway (Construction Organization)] NOTIFICATION Kolkata, the 28th April, 2026 S.O. 2122(E). - Whereas, by the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways (South Eastern Railway/Construction Organization), number 1942, S.O.1986(E), dated 2nd May 2025 in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) herein after referred to as the said notification issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989)(herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely ‘Buramara-Chakulia (59.96 km) new line', pertains to 16.20 Km section in the District of Mayurbhanj in the State of Odisha. And, whereas, the substance of said notification number 1942, S.O.1986(E), dated 2nd May 2025 was published in the daily newspapers, namely ‘SAMBAD' (Odiya) published on 15.05.2025 and 'Times of India' (English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 15.05.2025 under section (4) of section 20A of the said Act. And, whereas objections were received within the schedule time period and disposed of by the Competent Authority under section 20D of the said Act; As such, the corrigendum in amendment of said notification number 1942, S.O.1986(E), dated 2nd May 2025 issued under section 20A has been notified in Gazette of India vide number 2038, S.O. 2111(E), dated 27th April, 2026. And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority has submitted his report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority, and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on this publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
