This notification (S.O. 2448(E), dated 12th May, 2026) from the Ministry of Railways (South Eastern Railway/Construction Organization) declares the acquisition and absolute vesting of land for the 'Buramara-Chakulia (59.96 km) new line' Special Railway Project, specifically a 16.20 Km section in the Mayurbhanj District of Odisha. This declaration is made by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), following the receipt of a report from the Competent Authority. Previously, the Central Government had declared its intention to acquire this land via notifications S.O. 2206(E) dated 15th May, 2025; S.O. 2318(E) dated 26th May, 2025; and S.O. 4597(E) dated 8th October, 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the said Act. The substance of these intention notifications was published in 'Prameya' (Odiya) and 'The New Indian Express' (English) on various dates in 2025, as required by section 20A(4). Objections received were disposed of by the Competent Authority under section 20D. A corrigendum to the initial intention notifications was issued as S.O. 2111(E) dated 27th April, 2026. The land to be acquired is located in Mouza Deuli, Police Station Bangriposi, P.S No.5, Tahasil Saraskana, Rural, District Mayurbhanj, Odisha. NOTIFICATION
Kolkata, the 12th May, 2026

S.O. 2448(E).— Whereas, by the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of
Railways (South Eastern Railway/Construction Organization), number 2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th May,
2025; 2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May,2025 and 4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October, 2025 in the Gazette
of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) herein after referred to as the said notification
issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989)(herein after referred to
as the said Act), the Central Government, declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the schedule
annexed to the said notification for execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway
Project, namely ‘Buramara-Chakulia (59.96 km) new line', pertains to 16.20 Km section in the District of
Mayurbhanj in the State of Odisha.

And, whereas, the substance of said notification No.2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th May, 2025 was
published in the daily Newspapers, 'Prameya' (Odiya) on 25.05.2025 and 'The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 25.05.2025; Notification No.2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May,2025 was
published in the daily Newspapers, ‘THE SAMAJ (Odiya) on 05.06.2025 and ‘The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 26.06.2025 and Notification No.4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October,
2025 was published in the daily Newspapers, 'Prameya' (Odiya) on 21.12.2025 & ‘The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 21.12.2025 respectively under section (4) of section 20A of the said Act.

And, whereas objections were received within the schedule time period and disposed of by the
Competent Authority under section 20D of the said Act;

As such, the corrigendum in amendment of said notification number 2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th
May, 2025; 2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May, 2025 and 4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October, 2025 issued
under section 20A has been notified in Gazette of India vide number 2038, S.O. 2111(E), dated 27th April,
2026.

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority
has submitted his report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority, and in exercise of the
powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares
that the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government
hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the
Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.

NOTIFICATION
Kolkata, the 12th May, 2026

S.O. 2448(E).— Whereas, by the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of
Railways (South Eastern Railway/Construction Organization), number 2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th May,
2025; 2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May,2025 and 4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October, 2025 in the Gazette
of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) herein after referred to as the said notification
issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989)(herein after referred to
as the said Act), the Central Government, declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the schedule
annexed to the said notification for execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway
Project, namely ‘Buramara-Chakulia (59.96 km) new line', pertains to 16.20 Km section in the District of
Mayurbhanj in the State of Odisha.

And, whereas, the substance of said notification No.2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th May, 2025 was
published in the daily Newspapers, 'Prameya' (Odiya) on 25.05.2025 and 'The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 25.05.2025; Notification No.2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May,2025 was
published in the daily Newspapers, ‘THE SAMAJ (Odiya) on 05.06.2025 and ‘The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 26.06.2025 and Notification No.4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October,
2025 was published in the daily Newspapers, 'Prameya' (Odiya) on 21.12.2025 & ‘The New Indian Express'
(English) Bhubaneswar Edition on 21.12.2025 respectively under section (4) of section 20A of the said Act.

And, whereas objections were received within the schedule time period and disposed of by the
Competent Authority under section 20D of the said Act;

As such, the corrigendum in amendment of said notification number 2156, S.O.2206(E), dated15th
May, 2025; 2264, S.O.2318(E), dated 26th May, 2025 and 4468, S.O.4597(E), dated 8th October, 2025 issued
under section 20A has been notified in Gazette of India vide number 2038, S.O. 2111(E), dated 27th April,
2026.

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority
has submitted his report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority, and in exercise of the
powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares
that the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government
hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the
Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.

Brief description of land to be acquired, with or without structure, falling within the Special Railway
Project namely, ‘Buramara-Chakulia (59.96 km) new line', pertains to 16.20 Km section in the district of
