This action is taken under the power conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989, as amended by the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008. Any person interested in the land described in the annexed Schedule may raise objections within thirty days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of Section 20D of the Railways Act, 1989. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, the Additional District Magistrate (Land Acquisition), Hooghly, West Bengal, who will provide an opportunity for hearing. The Competent Authority's order under sub-section (2) of Section 20D shall be final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The Schedule provides a brief description of land, with or without structures, across various Mouzas (PANCHGHARA-80, ADAN-78, BEGAMPUR-73, TISA-70, KHARSARAI-71, PURBATAJPUR-72, KAMARKUNDU-53, BHOLA-55, BARAMALLICKPUR-131) and Police Stations (CHANDITALA, SINGUR, DHANIAKHALI) in the Hooghly District, including specific plot numbers and acquisition areas in acres and hectares for different level crossings such as NO. 16B & 17C, NO. 20/C/E, NO. 28C/T, and NO. 48/C/E.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-WB-E-12112025-267593 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2025/KARTIKA 21, 1947 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (Eastern Railway) NOTIFICATION Kolkata, the 28th October, 2025 S.O. 5123(E).โ€” In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the the Railways Act, 1989, (as amended vide the Railways (Amendment) Act,2008)(herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which has given in the Schedule annexed hereto, is required for the purpose execution, maintenance and operation of the Special Railway Project namely, โ€œHowrah Division - 40 Nos Elimination of Level Crossing of DFC route by ROB/RUBs on Indian Railway - DKAE-KAN HBC Chord line" in the Hooghly District in the State of West Bengal, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land; Any person interested in the said land may, within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, raise objection to the acquisition and use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of Section 20D of the said Act; Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, Additional District Magistrate (Land Acquisition), Hooghly, West Bengal in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof, and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by legal practitioner and may after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections; Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub- section (2) of Section 20D of the said Act shall be final; The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available and can be inspected by the interested persons at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
