Any interested person may object to the acquisition within twenty-one days from the notification's publication date, as per sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act. Objections must be in writing to the Competent Authority, who will provide a hearing, and whose final order under Sub Section (2) of Section 9 shall be binding. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-WB-E-06062026-273226 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2771] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2026/JYAISTHA 15, 1948 4036 GI/2026 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (Metro Railway) NOTIFICATION Kolkata, the 4th June, 2026 S.O. 2865(E).— WHEREAS, the land, building, street, road, passage or the right of user or easement therein, specified in the Schedule, are required for the purpose of construction of Joka to Diamond Park Metro Project (Phase-1) and other works connected therewith in the metropolitan City of Kolkata; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that such requirement of additional lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein are required for public purpose; AND WHEREAS, the plan bearing drawing number RVNL/KOL/METRO/JOKA DIAMOND PARK/2025/1/Rev.-R1 of the area specified in the Schedule, is available for inspection in the office of the Competent Authority at 39/1, Rash Bihari Avenue, (1st Floor), Kolkata-700026; NOW, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978 (33 of 1978), the Central Government hereby declares its intention to acquire the additional lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, as specified in the Schedule; Any person interested in the said lands, buildings, streets, roads, passages or the right of users or easement therein, as mentioned in the Schedule may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of the substance of this notification, object under sub-section (1) of section 9 of the said Act to such acquisition. Every objection under sub-section (1) shall be made to the Competent Authority in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof, and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard either in person or by a legal practitioner and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made, by the Competent Authority under Sub Section (2) of Section 9 of the said Act shall be final.
