                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Ministry of Railways (North Eastern Railway (Construction Organisation)) issued Notification S.O. 1901(E) on April 13, 2026, from Gorakhpur. In exercise of powers conferred by clause (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), the Central Government has declared its intention to acquire land for the public purpose of execution, maintenance, management, and operation of the Special Railway Project, namely, the Khalilabad –Bahraich New railway line project, spanning 240.66 Km. The land is located in Tehsil Jamunaha of Shrawasti District in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Any interested person may raise objections to this acquisition within thirty days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 20D of the said Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, identified as the Additional District Magistrate(F/R), Shrawasti Uttar Pradesh, who will provide an opportunity for a hearing. The Competent Authority's order on objections, made under sub-section (2) of section 20D, shall be final. Land plans and details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The schedule specifies land to be acquired in Bhikhampur Dulahiya and Shahpur Kadotiya villages within Tehsil Jamunaha, Shrawasti District, Uttar Pradesh. NOTIFICATION
Gorakhpur, the 13th April, 2026

S.O. 1901(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989
(24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public
purpose, the land, the brief description of which has been given in schedule annexed hereto, is required for purpose of
execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely Khalilabad –Bahraich New
railway line project (240.66 Km ) in the Tehsil Jamunaha of Shrawasti District in State of Uttar Pradesh hereby
declares its intention to acquire such land.

Any person interested in the said land may, within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of this
notification in the Official Gazette, raise objection to the acquisition and use of such land for the aforesaid purpose
under sub-section (1) of section 20D of the said Act.

Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority namely, Additional District Magistrate(F/R),
Shrawasti Uttar Pradesh in writing and shall set out the grounds there of, and the Competent Authority shall give the
objector the opportunity of being heard, either in person or by legal practitioner and may, after hearing such objections
and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allowor
disallow the objections.

Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 20D of the said Act shall be final.

The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available and can be inspected by
the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.

Brief description of the land to be acquired, with or without structures, falling within the Special Railway Project of
Khalilabad-Bahraich New Line Railway project (240.66 km) in 02 Village of Tehsil Jamunaha of Shrawasti
