The Ministry of Railways (North Eastern Railway (Construction Organization)), through Notification S.O. 2949(E) dated June 9, 2026, issued by ABHAY KUMAR GUPTA, Chief Administrative Officer/Construction, declares the Central Government's intention to acquire land for the public purpose of executing, maintaining, managing, and operating the Special Railway Project, specifically the 3rd line between Barabanki-Burhwal, spanning 26.99 Km. This action is taken under the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008) and the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). The land is located in the Tehsils of Ramnagar and Nawabganj within the Barabanki District of Uttar Pradesh. Interested persons have thirty days from the notification's publication date in the Official Gazette to raise objections to the acquisition and use of such land. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA), Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, setting out the grounds. The Competent Authority shall provide the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by legal practitioner, and its order made under sub-section (2) of section 20D of the said Act shall be final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the aforementioned office of the Competent Authority. NOTIFICATION
Gorakhpur, the 9th June, 2026

S.O. 2949( E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways
(Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008) and the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),
the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which has
been given in schedule annexed hereto, is required for purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation
of Special Railway Project, namely 3rd line between Barabanki-Burhwal (26.99 Km.) in the Tehsil-Ramnagar &
Nawabganj of Barabanki District in State of Uttar Pradesh hereby declares its intention to acquire such land.

Any person interested in the said land may, within a period of thirty days from the date of publication of
this notification in the Official Gazette, raise objection to the acquisition and use of such land for the aforesaid
purpose under sub-section (1) of section 20D of the said Act.

Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority namely, Competent Authority for Land
Acquisition (CALA), Barabanki Uttar Pradesh in writing and shall set out the grounds there of, and the Competent
Authority shall give the objector the opportunity of being heard, either in person or by legal practitioner and may,
after hearing such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks
necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections.

Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 20D of the said Act shall be
final.

The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available and can be
inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
