NOTIFICATION
Secunderabad, the 6TH February, 2026
S.O. 579(E).βIn exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20(A) of the Railways Act,
1989 (24 of 1989) (hereafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for public
purposes, the land, thebrief description of which is set out in the schedule appended hereto, hereby declares its intention
to acquire such land as is necessary for the execution of the special railway project, namely, gauge conversion work
between Khandwa-Akola in Burhanpur district in the State of Madhya Pradesh.
Any person interested in the said land may do so within a period of thirty days from the date of publication.
This notification shall be published in the Official Gazette under sub-section (1) of section 20Dof the said Act raising
objections to the acquisition and use of such land for the said act:
Every such objection shall be made to the competent authority, i.e. the Province. Sub-Divisional Officer
(Revenue) Nepanagar, District Burhanpur will determine in writing and its grounds. and the competent authority shall
give the objector an opportunity of being heard in person or by a legal practitioner and after hearing all such objections
and after further investigating, if any, as the competent authority considers necessary, may, by order, Either allow or
deny.
Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (ii) of section 20(D) of the said Act shall be
final.
The land plan and other details covered under this notification are available and can be inspected by the
interested person in the said office of the competent authority.

Brief description of the land to be acquired for the special railway project with or without structure, namely,
acquisition of land for gauge conversion work between Khandwa and Akola in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
