The Ministry of Railways (East Coast Railway) issued Notification S.O. 4762(E) on August 26, 2026, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 1989 (24/89). The notification declares the Central Government's intention to acquire land for a Special Railway Project, specifically the 'Construction of Road Over Bridge in lieu of closing of manned L.C.NO-159 at KM 368/27-29 between Stations Haridaspur(HDS)-Dhanmandal(DNM) (Haridaspur Yard) on the Howrah Visakhapatnam main line under Khurda Rd. Division' in Jajpur district of Odisha state. Any person interested in the said land may raise objections within thirty (30) days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 20D of the said Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA) & Tahasildar, Dharmasala. The competent authority will provide an opportunity for a hearing, and its order under sub-section (2) of section 20D shall be final. The annexed schedule (Annexure-I) provides a brief description of 59 plots from Chinamalia and Kusulia Mouzas, including both private and government land, to be acquired for the project, with a total required area of 5.101 acres. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the CALA office. NOTIFICATION
Bhubaneswar, the 26th August, 2026
Notice under Section 20A of the Railways Act-,1989
S.O. 4762(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20A of the
Railways(Amendment)Act,1989(24/89) (hereinafter referred as the said Act.), the Central Government, after being
satisfied that for the public purpose, the Land, brief description of which is given in the schedule annexed here to is
required for the execution of Special Railway Project, namely, “Construction of Road Over Bridge in lieu of closing of
manned L.C.NO-159 at KM 368/27-29 between Stations Haridaspur(HDS)-Dhanmandal(DNM) (Haridaspur Yard) on
Howrah Visakhapatnam main line under Khurda Rd. Division." in Jajpur district of Odisha state, hereby declares its
intention to acquire such land.
Any person interested in the said land may within a period of (30) thirty days from the date of publication of
the notification in the Official Gazette, raise objection to the acquisition of such land for the aforesaid purpose under
sub-section(1) of section 20D of the said Act.
Every objection shall be made to the competent authority, namely Competent Authority for Land
Acquisition(CALA) & Tahasildar, Dharmasala(CALA) for Construction of ROB in lieu of closing of manned of
L.C.NO-159 at KM 368/27-29 between Stations Haridaspur(HDS)-Dhanmandal(DNM) (Haridaspur Yard) on Howrah
Visakhapatnam main line under Khurda Rd. Division in writing, and shall set out grounds thereof and competent
authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or through a legal practitioner, and may,
after hearing all such objections and after making such further inquiry, if any, the competent authority thinks
necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections.
Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (2) of 20D of the said Act shall be final. The
land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available and can be inspected by the interested
person at the aforesaid office of the competent authority.

Railway Project, namely "Construction of ROB in lieu of closing of manned of L.C.NO-159 at KM 368/27-29 between
