Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Railways (Central Railway) issued Notification S.O. 4244(E) on September 10, 2025, in Mumbai. In exercise of powers conferred by clause (37A) of Section 2 of The Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), as referred to in the Railway (Amendment) Act 2008 (No.11 of 2008), the Central Government has notified the "Itarsi-Nagpur 4th line (297 km.) of Central Railway" as a 'Railway project' under 'Central Railway'. This project is designated as a 'Special Railway Project' for the purpose of land acquisition in Nagpur District of Maharashtra State and Narmadapuram, Betul & Pandhurna Districts of Madhya Pradesh State. The land acquisition is for providing national infrastructure for a public purpose and takes effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
