This notification, S.O. 3196(E), issued by the Ministry of Railways (Western Railway (Construction Organization)) on June 16, 2026, formally declares the acquisition of land for the "4TH LINE BETWEEN BAREJADI – NANDEJ (GERATPUR) – SANAND (38.20 KM) IN THE DISTRICT OF AHMEDABAD in the State of Gujarat." This declaration is made by the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). This action follows a previous notification, S.O. 490(E), dated July 22, 2025, published on July 23, 2025, under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the same Act, which had declared the intention to acquire the said land. The substance of the intention notification was duly published in local newspapers, including The Indian Express (English), on July 26, 2025. The Competent Authority confirmed that no objections were received under section 20D and subsequently submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 20E. Upon the publication of this current notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the annexed Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, as mandated by sub-section (2) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989.

NOTIFICATION
Mumbai, the 16th June, 2026

S.O. 3196(E).— Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), number S.O. 490(E), dated the 22 July, 2025 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part
II, Section 3, Sub – section (ii), dated the 23 July, 2025 and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the
Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of
the Special Railway Project, namely, 4TH LINE BETWEEN BAREJADI – NANDEJ (GERATPUR) – SANAND
(38.20 KM) IN THE DISTRICT OF AHMEDABAD in the State of Gujarat.

And, whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local news papers,
namely, The Indian Express (English), dated the 26 July, 2025, Sandesh (Gujarati) dated the 26 July, 2025 and
Rajasthan Patrika (Hindi) dated the 26 July, 2025 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has not received any objection under section 20D from any persons;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed
hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
