L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-MH-E-04072026-274101 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3326] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 2026/ASHADHA 4, 1948 (1) 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II-SEC. 3(ii)] MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (Western Railway) NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 19th June, 2025 S.O. 3460(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways (Western Railway), number S.O. 2568, Dated 12th June, 2025 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 03, Sub-Section (ii), dated the 12th June, 2025 and issued under the sub-section(1) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for execution, maintenance, management and operation of a Special Railway Project namely, Quadrupling of Virar-Dahanu Corridor on Western Railway, of MUTP III Projects in the district of Palghar in the State of Maharashtra; And whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers namely, he Free Press Journal (English), dated the 04th July, 2025 and Lokmat (Marathi) dated the 04th July, 2025 under the sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act; whereas, no objections were received by the Competent Authority; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Central Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of subsection (2) of Section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
