The new sub-paragraph (2) mandates that if the Board opines it necessary, based on the film's nature, content, and theme, to caution parents or guardians about suitability for children below seven, thirteen, or sixteen years, the film shall be certified for unrestricted public exhibition (UA) with an endorsement. This endorsement will include specific UA markers classifying content suitability: "U/A 7+" for children aged seven years and above (and under seven with parental guidance), "U/A 13+" for children aged thirteen years and above (and under thirteen with parental guidance), and "U/A 16+" for children aged sixteen years and above (and under sixteen with parental guidance). L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-31052025-263501 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2381] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2025/JYAISTHA 9, 1947 MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 30th May, 2025 S.O. 2440(E).β€”In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 5B of the Cinematograph Act, 1952 (37 of 1952), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting S.O. number 836 (E), dated the 6th December 1991 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) dated 6th December 1991, namely:- In the said notification in paragraph 5, for sub-paragraph (2), the following sub-paragraph shall be substituted, namely:- "(2) If the Board, having regard to the nature, content and theme of the film, is of the opinion that it is necessary to caution the parents or guardian of a child to consider as to whether any child below the age of seven, thirteen or sixteen years, may be allowed to see such a film, the film shall be certified for unrestricted public exhibition with an endorsement to that effect in accordance with the nature and type of the content with the following UA markers, namely:- (i) content suitable for a child aged seven years and above and under the age of seven years with parental guidance shall be classified as "U/A 7+" rating; (ii) content suitable for a child aged thirteen years and above and under the age of thirteen years with parental guidance shall be classified as "U/A 13+" rating; and (iii) content suitable for a child aged sixteen years and above and under the age of sixteen years with parental guidance shall be classified as "U/A 16+" rating;" [F.
