The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, through Notification S.O. 3011(E) dated 11th June, 2026, has exercised powers conferred by clause (s) of sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Sports Broadcasting Signals (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati) Act, 2007 (11 of 2007) and sub-rule (1) of rule 6 of the Sports Broadcast Signals (Mandatory Sharing with Prasar Bharati) Rules, 2007, to notify a revised list of sporting events of national importance. This notification supersedes the previous notification S.O. 2160 (E) dated 9th May, 2022. The newly notified events include All Olympics Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and specific events across various sports. For Cricket, this encompasses all official One-Day, Twenty-20, and Test matches played by Indian Men's and Women's World Cup Teams, ICC Test matches featuring India, and semi-finals/finals of various ICC World Cups, Champions Trophy, World Test Championship, and Asia Cup, along with Under-19 World Cup matches involving India. Tennis events include all Davis Cup matches featuring India and Grand Slam tournament finals (Men's/Women's Singles) and matches featuring Indian players from quarter-finals onwards (singles, doubles, mixed doubles). Hockey events cover World Cup, Champions Trophy, Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, FIH Pro League matches featuring India, and national championships, including the Hockey Men's Junior Men World Cup when India is the host. Football events include World Cup (opening, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals), Asia Cup matches featuring India, Santosh Trophy semi-finals/finals, and specific women's and Under-17 World Cups when India is the host. Badminton covers All England Open and BWF World Cup Championship matches featuring Indian players, semi-finals, and finals. Kabaddi includes World Cup matches featuring India. Also included are Khelo India Mission related Games, Competitions, and Leagues, and other international events like ISSF World Cup, Commonwealth Shooting/Archery Championships when India is the host, and international events organized by National Sports Federations recognized by the Government of India. All Olympics Games 2. Commonwealth Games 3. Asian Games 4. Events relating to the following sports,- A. Cricket (a) All official One-Day, Twenty-20 and Test matches played by the Indian Men's and Women's Cricket World Cup Team and all International Cricket Council Test matches featuring India;; (b) Semi-finals and finals of International Cricket Council Men's and Women's One-Day International World Cup; (c) Semi-finals and finals of International Cricket Council Men's and Women's Twenty-20 World Cup; (d) All semi-finals and finals of International Cricket Council Champions Trophy (One Day); (e) All semi-finals and finals of International Cricket Council World Test Championship; (f) Semi-finals/Super-4 Stage and finals of International Cricket Council Men's and Women's Asia Cup (Twenty -20 and One-Day International); and (g) India playing matches, semi-finals and finals of Under-19 World Cup. B. Tennis (a) Davis Cup-All matches featuring India; (b) Grand Slam Tournaments,-Finals of Men's Singles, Women's Singles and all matches featuring Indian player from quarter-finals onwards; and (c) Grand Slam Tournaments, - All such matches featuring Indian player in Men's doubles, Women's doubles or Mixed doubles from quarter-finals onwards. C. Hockey (a) World Cup – All matches featuring India and semi-finals and finals; (b) Champions Trophy – All matches featuring India and finals; (c) Hockey India Sub-Junior National Championship and Hockey India Academy National Championship; (d) Hockey Men's Junior Men World Cup*; (e) Sultan Azlan Shah Cup- All matches featuring India, semi-finals and finals; and (f) International Hockey Federation (FIH) - Hockey Pro League matches.
