The Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 8B of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 (53 of 2005), has constituted a High Level Committee for the purposes of this Act. This committee, notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs on April 30, 2025, consists of the Home Minister as Chairperson, and the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Finance Minister, and the Vice Chairman of the National Institution for Transforming India Aayog as Members.
