The Ministry of Home Affairs (CTCR Division), through Notification S.O. 4424(E) dated 26th September, 2025, and published on 29th September, 2025, announces that the Central Government, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 15 of the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008) and sub-section (8) of section 18 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, has appointed Shri Sentiyanger, Advocate, as Special Public Prosecutor. This appointment is for conducting trials and other related matters on behalf of the National Investigation Agency before the NIA Special Court, Dimapur, and the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench. The tenure is for 3 years from the notification's publication date or until the completion of the trials, whichever is earlier. The appointment covers seven specific NIA cases: RC-03/2013/NIA/GUW (Zunheboto arms siphoned case of Nagaland), RC-04/2015/NIA/DLI (Attack on Assam Rifles by NSCN(K) at Kohima, Nagaland), RC-01/2016/NIA/GUW (Extortion case NSCN(K) Nagaland), RC-07/2019/NIA/GUW (Arrest of Yangang Konyak at Mon District, Nagaland), RC-10/2019/NIA/GUW (Seizure of extortion money at Dimapur, Nagaland), RC-15/2019/NIA/GUW (Ambush on Assam Rifle in Mon District, Nagaland), and RC-02/2020/NIA/GUW (Dimapur case of extortion, illegal arms & ammunition, explosives etc. by NSCN-IM, Nagaland).
