Promotion requires a Diesel Engine Driver in level-2 (Rs.19900-63200) with eighteen years of regular service and three weeks' in-house training. A two-year probation period applies to promotion. Disqualification applies to persons entering into polygamous marriages, though the Central Government may grant exemptions. The Central Government retains the power to relax provisions. These rules do not affect reservations and concessions for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen, and other special categories. A Group 'B' Departmental Promotion Committee and a Group 'B' Departmental Confirmation Committee are constituted, each comprising a Deputy Director General (Engineering) as Chairperson, a Director (Engineering) or Deputy Director (Engineering) as Member, and a Deputy Director of Administration as Member. Notably, these rules will cease to exist upon superannuation of all Senior Broadcast Technicians and feeder cadres who are Government servants on deemed deputation to the Corporation and were recruited prior to April 1, 2000, and apply exclusively to such employees. Short title and commencement. – (1) These rules may be called the Prasar Bharati Senior Broadcast Technician, Group 'B' Post, Recruitment Rules, 2026. (2) These rules shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. Number of post, classification and pay level in pay matrix. - The number of post, its classification and level in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age-limit, qualifications, etc. – The method of recruitment, age-limit, qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the aforesaid Schedule. 4. Disqualification. – No Person, – (a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or (b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax.- Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 6. Savings. - Nothing in these rules shall affect reservation, relaxation of age-limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Other Backward Classes, the Ex-Servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard. Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, it is hereby clarified that these Recruitment Rules for the merged post of Senior Broadcast Technician shall apply exclusively to the employees recruited prior to 01.04.2000, i.e., Government employees on deemed deputation to Prasar Bharati.
