The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, through Order S.O. 2107(E) dated April 27, 2026, issued in pursuance of clause 20 D of the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Order, 1985, notifies specific Nano fertilisers and their manufacturing specifications for a period of two years from the date of publication. The notified Nano fertilisers include Nano Zinc (liquid) with 4.0% minimum total zinc; Nano Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium (NPK 10-10-10) with 10.0% minimum for each component; Nano Nitrogen and Phosphorous 08-16 with 8.0% minimum total nitrogen and 16.0% minimum total phosphorus; and Nano Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium 6-10-4 with 6.0% minimum total nitrogen, 10.0% minimum total phosphorus, and 4.0% minimum total potassium. All specified nano fertilisers require a particle size where minimum 50% of the material is <100nm (as per Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) Analysis) and a specific Zeta potential range, typically (-)5 to (-)30 mV, except for Nano NPK 6-10-4 which is (-)14 to (-)22 mV. M/s Meghmani Crop Nutrition Limited is authorized to manufacture Nano Zinc, Nano NPK 10-10-10, and Nano NP 08-16, while M/s DCM Shriram Limited is authorized for Nano NPK 6-10-4. Manufacturers must comply with conditions including no forced sales by tagging with other fertilizers or Agri inputs, printing crop-wise dosage and application methods on labels or leaflets, and ensuring farmer demonstrations at various Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The manufacturer shall ensure that there shall be no forced sale of Nano fertilisers by tagging with other fertilizers or any other kind of Agri inputs ; ii. The manufacturer shall print on the label of the container of nano fertilizer or on a separate leaflet to be packed with container of Nano fertilizer, the crop wise dose of Nano fertilizer, Crop stage at which the nano fertilizer is to be applied and method of application of Nano fertilizer; iii The manufacturer shall ensure demonstrations to farmers at various Krishi Vigyan Kendras on advantage in using of Nano fertilizer.
