NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 24th March, 2025
S.O. 1509(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act, 2022 (3 of
2023), hereinafter referred to as said Act, and all other powers enabling in this behalf, the Central Government hereby
authorizes
(a) the rank of Chief Petty Officer and above of the Indian Navy; and the rank of Adhikari and above of the
Indian Coast Guard to exercise the powers of arrest as exercisable by a police officer under the Bharatiya Nagarik
Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023) for the purposes of the said Act; and
(b) the rank of Sub-Inspector and above, of the following State Governments and Union territory
Administrations, to exercise the powers of arrest, investigation and prosecution of any person as exercisable by a
police officer under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (46 of 2023) for the purposes of the said Act:-
