Issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 28th March, 2024 (S.O. 1580(E)), this notification recites that the Central Government had earlier declared the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik faction) (JKLF-Y) an unlawful association vide notification S.O. 1416(E) dated 15th March, 2024 (published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii)) under sub-sections (1) and (3) of section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967). Exercising powers conferred by section 42 of the said Act, the Central Government now directs that all powers exercisable by it under sections 7 and 8 of the Act in relation to JKLF-Y shall also be exercised by the State Governments and Union territory administrations. 2316 GI/202 4 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1499] NEW DELH I, THURS DAY , MARCH 28, 2024 /CHAITRA 8, 194 6 CG-DL-E-28032024-253437 MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 28 th March, 2024 S.O. 1580 (E).—Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -sections (1) and (3) of section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the Central Government declared the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik faction) (JKLF -Y), as an unlawful association vide notification number S.O. 1416(E) dated the 15th March, 2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, Section -3, Sub -section (ii) dated the 15th March, 2024. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967) (herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby directs that all powers exercisable by it under section 7 and section 8 of the said Act shall also be exercised by the State Governments and the Union territory administrations in relation to the above said unlawful association.
