Acting under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958), and following a further review of the law and order situation in Arunachal Pradesh after the prior declaration made vide Notification S.O.4231(E) dated 26.09.2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs notifies that the Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh, together with the areas under the jurisdiction of the Namsai, Mahadevpur and Chowkham police stations in Namsai district (bordering Assam), are declared 'disturbed area' for a period of six months with effect from 01.04.2024, unless withdrawn earlier; the notification (S.O. 1574(E)) is signed by Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary, under file number F. No.11011/104/2015-NE.V.

And whereas a further review of the law and order situati on in the state of Arunachal Pradesh has been undertaken. Now, therefore, T irap, Changlang and Longding districts in Arunachal Pradesh and the areas falling within the jurisdiction of Namsai , Mahadevpur and Chowkham police stations in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh, bordering the State of Assam, are declared as ‘disturbed a rea’ under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 for a period of six months with effect from 01.04.2024, unless withdrawn earlier.
