NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th September, 2024
G.S.R . 597 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 8 of the Central Reserve Police Force
Act, 1949 (66 of 1949), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of
recruitment to the posts of Head Constable(Daftry), Head Constable(Peon), Head Constable(Farash) and Head
Consta ble(Safai Karamchari Ministerial) under Ministerial Cadre in the Central Reserve Police Force, Ministry of
Home Affairs, namely: -
1. Short title and commencement. -(1) These rules may be called the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central
Reserve Police Force, Ministerial Cadre, Head Constable(Daftry), Head Constable(Peon), Head
Constable(Farash) and Head Constable(Safai Karamchari Ministerial ), Group ‘C’ Posts Recruitment
Rules, 2024.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Off icial Gazette.
2. Application. -These rules shall apply to the posts as specified in column (1) of the Schedule annexed to these
rules.
3. Number of posts, classific ation and level in pay matrix. -The number of the said posts, their classification
and lev el in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2 ) to (4) of the said Schedule.
4. Method of recruitment, age -limit, qualifications, etc. - The method of recruitment, age -limit, qualifications
and other matters relating to the said posts shall be as specified in columns (5 ) to (13) of the said Schedule.
5. Disqualification. -No person, -
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts:
Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal
law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing,
exempt any person f rom the operation of this rule.
6. Ineligibility of non -citizens of India. -No person, who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the prior
permission of the Central Government in writing, be appointed under these rules:
Provided that nothing contained in this rule shall debar the appointment or employment of a subject of Nepal
or Bhutan in the Force.
7. Superannuation. -(1) Every person appointed under these rules shall retire from service on the afternoon of the
last day of the month in which he or she attains the age of sixty years or as per prescribed by the Central
Government from time to time :
Provided that a person whose date of birth is on th e first day of a month, shall retire from service in the
afternoon of the last day of the preceding month on attaining the age of superannuation.
(2) No person shall be granted extension in service beyond the prescribed age of retirement on superannuatio n as
specified in sub -rule(1).
8. Power to relax. -Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it may,
by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with resp ect to an y
class or category of persons.
9. Saving. -Nothing in these rules shall affect reservation, relaxation of age -limit and other concessions required to be
provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Other Backward Classes, the Ex -servicemen and
others special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government fr om time to
time in this regard.

(Rs.21700 -69100) with five years regular service
in the grade; and
(b) the candidate shall be, -
(i) in medical category SHAPE -I as per the
Central Reserve Police Force Standing Order
No. 04, dated the 15th December, 2008; and
(ii) has good record of service.
Note. -Where juniors who have completed their
qualifying or eligibility service or being considered for
promotion, their senior s shall also be considered
provided they are not short of the requisite qualifying
or eligibility service by more than half of such
qualifying or eligibility service or two years, whichever
is less and have successfully completed their probation
period for promotion to the next higher grade along
with the juniors who have already completed such
qualifying or eligibility service. Group ‘C’ Departmental Promotion
Committee (for considering
promotion) consisting of : -
1. Deputy Inspector General, Central
Reserve Police Force -Chairperson;
2. Commandant, Central Reserve
