The Ministry of Home Affairs, by notification S.O. 1564(E) dated 27th March 2024, records that the Central Government had earlier declared, under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958), 8 districts and 21 police stations in 5 other districts of Nagaland as 'disturbed area' for six months from 1st October 2023 vide notification S.O. 4232(E) dated 26th September 2023, and following a further review of the law and order situation, now declares Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts, together with areas falling within the jurisdiction of Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza and Kezocha police stations (Kohima District); Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-I, Longtho, Tuli, Longchem and Anaki 'C' police stations (Mokokchung District); Yanglok police station (Longleng District); Bhandari, Champang and Ralan police stations (Wokha District); and Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto and Aghunato police stations (Zunheboto District), as 'disturbed area' under Section 3 of the Act for a further period of six months from 1st April 2024, unless withdrawn earlier, issued under file number 7/10/2003-NE.I and signed by Piyush Goyal, Additional Secretary.

And whereas a further review of the law and order situation in the state of Nagaland has been undertaken . Now, therefore, Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts in Nagaland and the areas in Nagaland falling within the jurisdiction of i) Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza and Kezocha police stations in Kohima District; ii) Mangkolemba, Mokokchung -I, Longtho, Tuli, Longchem and Anaki ‘C’ police stations in Mokokchung District; iii) Yanglok police station in Longleng District; iv) Bhandari, Champang and Ralan police stations in Wokha District ; and v) Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto and Aghunato police stations in Zunheboto District , are declared as ‘disturbed area’ under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 for a period o f six months with effect from 01. 04.2024, unless withdrawn earlier.
