The Ministry of Home Affairs issued Notification S.O. 4216(E) dated 25th September 2024, under section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958), noting that the Central Government had earlier declared 8 districts and 21 police stations in 5 other districts of Nagaland as 'disturbed area' for six months with effect from 1st April 2024 vide Notification S.O. 1564(E) dated 27th March 2024. Following a further review of the law-and-order situation, the Government declares Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts, together with the areas under specified police stations in Kohima District (Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza, Kezocha), Mokokchung District (Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-I, Longtho, Tuli, Longchem, Anaki 'C'), Longleng District (Yanglok), Wokha District (Bhandari, Champang, Ralan) and Zunheboto District (Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto, Aghunato) as 'disturbed area' under section 3 of the Act for a further period of six months with effect from 1st October 2024, unless withdrawn earlier. And whereas , a further review of the law and order situation in the state of Nagaland has been undertaken . Now, therefore, Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima , Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts in Nagaland and the areas in Nagaland falling within the jurisdiction of i) Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza and Kezocha police stations in Kohima District; ii) Mangkolemba, Mokokchung -I, Longtho , Tuli, Longchem and Anaki ‘C’ police stations in Mokokchung District; iii) Yanglok police station in Longleng District; iv) Bhandari, Champang and Ralan police stations in Wokha District ; and v) Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto and Aghunato police stations in Zunheboto District , are declared as ‘disturbed area’ under Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 for a period o f six months with effect from 01. 10.2024, unless withdrawn earlier.
