Detailed Summary

Vide Notification No. 13-CA(EXAM)/2024 dated 15th April 2024, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (set up by an Act of Parliament) states that, for students' benefit, the Council has decided that from May/June 2024 onwards the Intermediate and Foundation Course Examinations will be held thrice a year, in May/June, September and January, instead of the existing twice-yearly practice, giving students more opportunities to appear; candidates meeting eligibility criteria under Regulation 25F (Foundation, minimum four months' registration with the Board of Studies before the exam month) and Regulation 28G (Intermediate, registration with the Board of Studies and a certificate of an eight-month study course) may appear in the next eligible exam; the CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year, in May and November; signed by CA (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary, under ADVT.-III/4/Exty./044/2024-25.

Due to more frequency of exams, students will get more opportunity to appear in the exam. Students who are fulfilling the eligibility criteria for Admission to the Foundation course examination i.e registered with the Board of Studies of the Institute for a minimum period of four months on or before the 1st day of the month in which the examination is held along with other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 25F and for Intermediate course Examination i.e registered with the Board of Studies of the Institute and produces a certificate to the effect that he has undergone a study course for a period of not less than eight months as on the first day of the month in which the examination is held along with other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 28G (details at https://resource.cdn.icai.org/75788ca-regulations-61309.pdf) can appear in the next eligible exam. It may be noted that the CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in the month of May and November. Students are advised to take note of the above and act accordingly. CA.
