1949, a copy of the audited accounts and the Report of Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
(ICAI) for the year ended 31st March 2025 is hereby published for general information.
76th Annual Report
The year 2024–25 will be remembered as a landmark period, one defined by bold ideas, transformative actions and
commitment to shaping the future of our profession. As ICAI proudly celebrates 75 years of excellence, we stand at
a pivotal moment, looking ahead to 'India@100' with renewed purpose and passion. At the heart of ICAI’s
initiatives lied the core of Technology, Research, Union Development, Sustainability, and Transparency, setting the
profession on a course toward that will shape the next 25 years of the profession. Over the years ICAI has evolved
from its role as regulator to emerge as the largest accounting body globally. Today, the accounting profession stands
at the crossroads of tradition and transformation, ICAI carries forward its role not just as a regulator, but as a
catalyst championing change for value creation. With a renewed sense of purpose, we are not just to modernize
practice, but to reimagine the future of finance itself.
As an institution, ICAI is building more than professionals, cultivating problem-solvers, sustainability champions,
and digital thinkers who are ready to lead in a world that demands agility and accountability. The Institute is
strengthening governance, evolving accounting frameworks, and actively enabling the transition to a green
economy, all with a clear conviction - to shape a profession that leads with integrity, creates real value for society,
and drives the nation forward with purpose and pride. With India now standing tall as the world’s fourth-largest
economy and steadily progressing toward the ambitious goal of becoming a $30 trillion powerhouse, the nation is
redefining global leadership. In this transformative era, ICAI remains deeply committed to being a trusted partner
in nation building, firmly rooted in its role as a guardian of public interest and a catalyst for sustainable progress.
Renowned globally for its ethics, technical excellence, and rigorous education, ICAI continues to shape
professionals who are not only financially adept but also socially responsible. Chartered Accountants have long
been vital contributors to India’s economic story as advisors, enablers, and changemakers across industries and
communities. As look ahead, ICAI stands ready to lead with integrity, foster innovation, and nurture talent that can

shaping the narrative of India’s global rise. Over the past 75 years, ICAI has not only upheld the trust of the nation
but also helped shape its financial narrative by building a legacy of credibility, excellence, and national service. As
India emerges as the fourth-largest economy in the world and sets its sights on becoming a $30 trillion economic
force, the role of the accounting profession is more crucial than ever.
Today, the Institute stands at a powerful intersection of legacy and change. With a deep commitment to ethical
leadership and world-class technical education, ICAI continues to equip Chartered Accountants with the
capabilities needed for a fast-evolving global economy one shaped by technology, sustainability, and shifting
governance paradigms. From ensuring transparency in financial systems to supporting businesses in navigating
complexity, Chartered Accountants have been at the core of supporting India’s growth journey. With the rise of new
economic models, digital ecosystems, and green finance reshaping the future, ICAI is ready to lead the way in
national development and nurture professionals who will play a vital role in shaping India’s future economy.
It is with great pride and purpose the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) presents the
76th Annual Report for the year ended 31st March 2025.
From its inception on 1st July 1949, ICAI has evolved into a global force now representing over 4.5 lakh members
and 10 lakh students, with a presence in 85 international cities across 47 countries. This remarkable journey of ours
in service to the nation has been powered by the enduring values of trust, accountability, and professional. The
report offers a detailed account of the Council’s key initiatives and committee-led activities undertaken during the
financial year 2024–2025, along with the Institute’s audited financial performance for the year. Reflecting on the
milestones of the past year, the Council extends heartfelt appreciation to the members and students for their
commitment to ethics, independence, integrity, and excellence, as the profession has continued to grow in relevance
and impact on the global stage.
This Annual Report highlights the important progress which have been made and outlines the priorities that will
guide ICAI’s path forward focusing on innovation, greater impact, and strong leadership in a changing world:
75 Years of Trust- Celebrating the Excellence, Independence and Integrity of the CA Profession
ICAI celebrated 1st July 2024 as 75 years of trust, honouring Chartered Accountants hard work and contributions
to national development. The event was marked with great enthusiasm and splendor, showcasing the achievements
of Chartered Accountants and future plans in the Kartavya Kaal to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat. The grand
event, held in the largest hall of Bharat Mandapam, was attended by numerous dignitaries and all CAs. Among
them were Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India; Attorney General of India; Secretary of the Ministry
of Electronics and Information Technology; Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, President of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh; Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA)
President; Shri Heshana Kuruppu President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).
ICAI unites for a nationwide ‘CA Run for Viksit Bharat’
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the world's largest accountancy body, commemorated its 75
years of service to the nation with the grand 'CA Run for Viksit Bharat' on 30th June, 2024. The event underscored
ICAI’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by
2047. More than 10000 Participants participated, including members and students from across the globe, began the
run at 6:00 AM from 5 Regional Councils, 176 Branches, and various Chapters. In New Delhi, the run commenced
from ICAI Headquarters and concluded at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The event was graced by the
presence of Shri Harsh Malhotra, Hon’ble Minister of State of Corporate Affairs, who praised ICAI’s contributions
to the nation's financial standards. ICAI leadership emphasized the profession's role in economic reforms and good
governance and highlighted the collective dedication of the CA fraternity towards a prosperous India.
World Forum of Accountants -2025
The World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) 2025, a prestigious global convergence of accounting professionals and
thought leaders, was organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and inaugurated by
Hon’ble Defence Minister of India. Held from January 31 to February 2, 2025, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, the
event brought together over 6,500 delegates from 46 countries — marking one of the largest and most significant
gatherings of the global accounting fraternity. Centered on the theme "Accountability Meets Innovation (AI): For a
Sustainable Planet," WOFA 2025 served as a dynamic platform for exchanging insights on emerging global trends,
sustainable practices, and the transformative role of technology in the accounting profession. More than just a
conference, WOFA became a moment of pride and powerful assertion of India’s growing stature in the global
financial ecosystem. With this landmark event, ICAI showcased India’s capabilities as a rising global hub for
accounting and auditing services. The Forum reflected India’s vision of becoming a knowledge leader in assurance,
transparency, and financial stewardship,aligned with the broader national aspiration of positioning India as a
trusted voice and destination in the global economy.
Training of Indian Corporate Law Services (ICLS) Officials
Being a premier educational body the ICAI continuously endeavours to support the capacity and competency
development of government officials for building their understanding on various emerging aspects of financial
reporting and laws as well as the evolving best practices. In this direction, the institute has conducted training for
ICLS officials 2022 batch at ICAI Head Quarters, New Delhi on 20th April, 2024. With these initiatives the
institute aspires to strengthen the process of developing effective and efficient policy for better governance.
ICAI adopts Tech for enhancing Financial Literacy – Finfluencer Meet
Surveys reveal that only 27 per cent of India's population is financially literate. Additionally, only 16.7 per cent of
Indian students have a basic understanding of finance and money management. As the world's largest accounting
body, ICAI as its social responsibility is educating and empowering the citizens of the country and create a
sustainable financial ecosystem for the nation to emerge as a self-reliant nation. Taking forward the Government of
India’s mission of ‘VitiyaSaksharta’ (Financial Literacy) to the next level and promoting understanding of tax laws,
accounting, and diverse facets of the financial system. The institute has organized a Finfluencers meet in New
Delhi on 5th April, 2024 wherein 41 prominent social media influencers came forward to collaborate and on
educating masses on financial knowledge.
Academia Meet with Universities & Institutions
With a vision to make India Vishwaguru, the ICAI organised the Academia Meet with Universities and Institutions
held on May 17, 2024, in New Delhi. The event served as a vital platform for meaningful dialogue between ICAI
and academia, bringing together scholars, researchers, and senior faculty from over 35 leading universities and
institutions across the country. The discussions focused on fostering a collaborative ecosystem for academic
research, aligning curriculum with evolving industry needs, and exploring joint initiatives to promote innovation,
ethics, and excellence in commerce and accountancy education. This engagement reflects ICAI’s firm commitment
to strengthening academic partnerships, encouraging applied research, and shaping future-ready professionals
through an enriched and forward-looking education framework.
Resolve 2024- 2nd International Convention on Insolvency & Valuation
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized the 2nd edition of RESOLVE-2024, the
International Convention on Insolvency Resolution and Valuation at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, India in
collaboration with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals
of ICAI and the Registered Valuers Organisation of ICAI. The theme of the conference "Enabling Resolution
Maximizing Value” aimed to foster the adoption of global best practices in the industry. The two-day event hosted
over 40 eminent speakers across 14 technical sessions covering the most relevant and contemporary topics in the
space of insolvency resolution. The event brought together over 500 insolvency and valuation professionals,
making it the largest insolvency convention in India.4th Global Education Summit in Commerce & Accountancy.
