This extension is granted by the Central Government in exercise of powers under sub-section (1) of section 15 of the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 (34 of 2008), read with sub-section (8) of section 18 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Shri Ajith Kumar S. will continue to conduct the trial and other related matters for NIA case No. RC-02/2022/NIA/KOC on behalf of the National Investigation Agency before the Hon'ble NIA Special Courts, Ernakulam, and the Hon'ble High Court of Kerala. The extension is for a further period of 3 years, effective from April 19, 2026, or until the completion of the trial for the said case, whichever occurs earlier.
