Declaration of areas in Manipur as disturbed area under AFSPA

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-23032026-271198 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1450] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2026/CHAITRA 2, 1948 2118 GI/2026 MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 23rd March, 2026 S.O. 1515(E). - Whereas, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958) had declared entire State of Manipur, excluding the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the 13 (thirteen) Police Stations of 5 districts, as 'disturbed area' for a period of six months with effect from 01.10.2025 vide Notification S.O.4379 (E) dated 26.09.2025. And whereas, a further review of the law and order situation in the state of Manipur has been undertaken. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (28 of 1958), the entire State of Manipur, excluding the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the following 13 (thirteen) Police Stations of 5 districts, is declared as 'disturbed area' for a period of six months with effect from 01.04.2026, unless withdrawn earlier:- +---------+----------------------------+----------------+ | Sl.
