By notification S.O. 3545(E) dated 20th August 2024, the Ministry of Power, exercising powers under sub-para 3.2 of Para 3 of the Guidelines issued under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (No. 36 of 2003), and on the recommendations of the 20th meeting of the National Committee on Transmission, notified two transmission schemes under the TBCB mode: (1) the Network Expansion scheme in the Western Region to cater to pumped storage potential near Talegaon (Pune), with REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited as Bid-Process Coordinator and a tentative implementation timeframe of 1st January 2027 (minimum 24 months from SPV transfer), comprising a new 2x1500 MVA 765/400 kV substation south of Kalamb with associated bus reactors, a LILO of the Pune-III-Boisar-II 765 kV double-circuit line at the South Kalamb substation (40 km route length), and installation of switchable 240 MVAr line reactors, and (2) the provision of ICT Augmentation and Bus Reactor at Bhuj-II Pooling Station, with PFC Consulting Limited as Bid-Process Coordinator and a tentative implementation timeframe of 21 months from SPV transfer, comprising augmentation of transformation capacity by 3x500 MVA 400/220 kV ICTs and 1x1500 MVA 765/400 kV ICT, installation of a 330 MVAr 765 kV bus reactor, and implementation of a 220 kV GIS line bay for Aditya Birla Renewables Subsidiary Limited (application no. 2200000321, 362 MW).
