L. -33004/99 EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 212] NEW DELH I, THURS DAY , MARCH 21, 2024 /CHAITRA 1, 1946 CG-DL-E-21032024-253293 [फा. सं. 13035 /19/2019 -पीपी-1] MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE (Department of Agriculture and Farmers We lfare) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 2 1st March , 2024 G.S.R. 226(E).—Whereas the draft rules further to amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971, was published, as required by section 36 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968) vide notification of the Governme nt of India in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare) number G.S.R. 866 (E), dated the 29th November, 2023, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, Section -3, Sub -section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette of India in which the said notification was published, were made available to the public; And whereas, copies of the said notification were made available to the public on 29th day of November, 2023; And whereas, objections or suggestions r eceived from the public in respect of the said draft rules have been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 36 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971, namely: - 1. (1) These rules may be called the Insecticides (Second Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Insecti cides Rules, 1971, in rule 10, in sub -rule (3A), in clause (i), following proviso shall be inserted, namely: - “Provided that a person who applies for grant of licence to undertake pest control operations with the use of Glyphosate and its derivatives sh all be deemed to have been granted a licence, if the licensing officer did not grant him licence after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date of submission of his application with a fee of one thousand rupees for all places of operation using such glyphosate and its derivatives. ” [F.
