Core Purpose

This notification adds provisions regarding 'Rounding Off Marks and Tie-breaking Principle' to the Rules for the Central Industrial Security Force Assistant Commandant (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025.

Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Home Affairs, through a notification (F. No. 45012/20/2024-Pers-I) dated June 20, 2025, has introduced new provisions concerning 'Rounding Off Marks and Tie-breaking Principle' for the Central Industrial Security Force Assistant Commandant (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025. These provisions amend the original rules published in Part I, Section 1 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary dated December 4, 2024. Specifically, marks obtained by candidates will now be rounded off up to two decimal digits at all examination stages using a standard rounding off principle, and these rounded-off marks will be utilized for resolving all tie cases. The established tie-breaking principles are applied sequentially: first, candidates with higher aggregate (Final Marks) are ranked higher; second, if aggregate marks are equal, candidates securing more marks in 'Paper-I: General Ability & Intelligence and professional Skill' are ranked higher; third, if both preceding criteria are equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher. If a tie persists even after applying these three principles, it will be resolved at the discretion of the Commission. The notification was signed by P. S. DANGWAL, Dy. Secy.
