The Ministry of Coal, by S.O. 2008(E) dated 17th May 2024, gives notice under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957) of its intention to prospect for coal from land described in the Schedule, comprising the Burapahar Coal Block, IB Valley Coalfield, District Sundargarh, Odisha, per plan number GMDC/BURAPAHAR/SEC-4/24/04 dated 17th April 2024, covering a total area of approximately 606.412 hectares (1497.426 acres) across the villages of Jharapalanka, Mundelkhet, Bhogarakachara, Bijahan, Chakra, Bileimunda and Jamkani plus Reserved Forest land, all in Hemgiri tehsil; the plan may be inspected at the offices of the Chief General Manager (Exploration Division), Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, Ranchi; the Coal Controller, Coal Controller's Organisation, Ministry of Coal, Delhi-110092; the District Collector, Sundargarh, Odisha; and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited's (GMDC) Regional Corporate Office, Bhubaneswar; interested persons may claim compensation under section 6 or sub-sections (1)/(4) of section 13 of the Act within ninety days of publication, addressed to the General Manager (CPD), GMDC, Registered Office at Khanij Bhavan, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad-380052, Gujarat. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-20052024-254259 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1910] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, MAY 17, 2024/VAISAKHA 27, 1946 MINISTRY OF COAL NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 17th May, 2024 S.O. 2008(E).—Whereas, it appears to the Central Government that coal is likely to be obtained from the land in the locality described in the Schedule annexed hereto; And whereas the plan bearing number GMDC/BURAPAHAR/SEC-4/24/04,dated the 17th April, 2024 containing details of the area of land described in the said Schedule may be inspected at the office of the office of the Chief General Manager (Exploration Division), Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited, Gondwana Place, Kanke Road, Ranchi (Jharkhand) or at the office of the Coal Controller, Coal Controller's Organisation, Ministry of Coal, 5th Floor, Core-2, Scope Minar, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi-110 092 or at the office of the District Collector, Sundargarh, Odisha or at the office of GMDC, Regional Corporate Office at 5th Floor, Fortune Tower, Chandrashekharpur Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Odisha, 751023. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government herebygives notice of its intention to prospect for coal from the land described in the said Schedule; Any person interested in the land described in the said Schedule may — (i) claim compensation under section 6 of the said Act for any damage caused or likely to be caused by any action taken under sub-section (3) of section 4 thereof; or (ii) claim compensation under sub-section (1) of section 13 of the Act in respect of prospecting license ceasing to have effect or under sub-section (4) of section 13 of the said Act for mining lease ceasing to have effect and deliver all maps, charts and other documents relating to the aforesaid land to show the expenditure incurred in respect of items specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act, to the office, General Manager (CPD) of the M/s Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited, Registered Office and Head Office at Khanij Bhavan, 132 ft.
