This notification, issued by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) on August 13, 2026, under No. 2026/E&R/1(3)/3, announces the Central Government's decision to alter the jurisdictional boundary between the Ranchi division of South Eastern Railway and the Dhanbad division of East Central Railway. This modification is made in view of operational requirements. The existing boundary of 198.918 Km will be revised to 198.515 Km towards Barkakana station on the Ranchi-Barkakana section. The change will come into force with immediate effect and is signed by Sanjiv Narain Mathur, Secretary.
