The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, through Order S.O. 1334(E) dated 13th March, 2026, and published on March 16, 2026, has notified 14 Nano fertilisers for a period of two years from the date of publication. This action is taken in pursuance of clause 20 D of the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) Control Order, 1985. The notified Nano fertilisers include various formulations of Nano DAP, Nano Urea, Nano Zinc, Nano Phosphorus, and Nano NPK, each with specific minimum percentages for Total Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus (as P2O5), Potassium (as K2O), Zinc (as Zn), Sulphur (as S), Calcium (as Ca), and defined hydrodynamic and physical particle sizes (minimum 50% of material <100 nm by DLS and TEM analysis), along with specific Zeta Potential ranges. Manufacturers are mandated to avoid forced sales by tagging, print crop-wise dose and application methods on labels or leaflets, and conduct demonstrations for farmers at Krishi Vigyan Kendras. The manufacturer shall comply the following terms and conditions:- (i) The manufacturer shall ensure that there shall be no forced sale of Nano fertilisers by tagging with other fertilizers or any other kind of Agri inputs ; (ii) The manufacturer shall print on the label of the container of nano fertilizer or on a separate leaflet to be packed with container of Nano fertilizer the crop wise dose of Nano fertilizer, Crop stage at which the nano fertilizer is to be applied and method of application of Nano fertilizer; (iii) The manufacturer shall ensure demonstrations to farmers at various Krishi Vigyan Kendras on advantage in using of Nano fertilizer.
