Short title and commencement. - (1) This Order may be called the Guidelines for the Disposal of Enemy Property (Amendment) Order, 2024. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Guidelines for the Disposal of Enemy Property Order, 2018, in paragraph 9, in sub-paragraph (2), for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: - i. “(a) valued below rupees one crore in rural area and valued below rupees five crore in urban area, the Custodian shall offer of purchase to the occupant first and if the occupant refuses the offer of purchase, then enemy property shall be disposed of in accordance with the procedure specified in clauses (b), (c) and (d): Explanation:- For the purposes of this clause,- ii. "rural area" means any area in a State except those areas covered by any urban local body or a Cantonment Board established or constituted under any law for the time being in force; “urban area" means any area within the limits of a municipal corporation or municipality as the Central Government may, having regard to the population, concentration of industries, need for proper planning of the area and other relevant factors, by general or special order, declare to be an urban area".
