He was appointed Governor of Manipur from 27th August, 2021, to 19th February, 2023, and held additional charge as Governor of West Bengal from 18th July, 2022, to 17th November, 2022. He was appointed Governor of Nagaland on 20th February, 2023. Shri La Ganesan was a multi-linguist and made literary contributions as Editor of the BJP's Tamil mouthpiece “Ore Naadu” and as Founder President of “Pottramarai,” an association fostering Tamil Scholars. No. 3/2/2025-Public. — The President of India has noted with deep regret, the sad demise of Shri La Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland on 15th August, 2025 at Chennai. 2. Shri La Ganesan was born in Tanjore (Thanjavur), Tamil Nadu on 16th February, 1945. To serve the nation, he resigned from the Government job and chose to be the Pracharak of Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh. During the Emergency in 1975, Shri La Ganesan was the Chief Organizer of the movement in Tamil Nadu and worked to restore democracy back. 3. Shri La Ganesan held the posts of Organizing Secretary of State BJP, National Secretary, All India Vice- President and State President of Tamil Nadu. He was a member of National Executive Committee of BJP since 1991. He was Member of Rajya Sabha from 6th October, 2016 to 2nd April 2018.He was appointed as the Governor of Manipur (27th August 2021 to 19th February, 2023) and was also given additional charge as Governor of West Bengal from 18th July 2022 to 17th November, 2022. He was appointed as Governor of Nagaland on 20th February 2023. 4. Shri La Ganesan was a multi linguist person, who could speak Hindi, Tamil, English, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
